Summer Release 2023

Audience: Users that can currently access the Courseware Audit Report will benefit from this update. That includes Account admins, program admins, and instructors.

Impact: Small, but important for overall program management

What is the enhancement?

This spring, we expanded the all-in-one audit report in Courseware to offer a comprehensive view of student enrollment and course completion progress.

How does it work?

The report now combines active, dropped, and completed student enrollments into a single report and is available from the administration center, classic reports, the program admin dashboard, and new reports.

Internal Talk Track

Audience: Administrators

Impact: Small, but relieving a known pain point for current customers, particularly for larger implementations

What is the enhancement?

We’re granting administrators greater permissions and control to flexibly adjust which educators have the ability to add and drop students from sections.

How does it work?

This improvement to global user management supports better oversight and implementation consistency for educators guiding the overall health of their program.

Internal Note: This will be an account setting available in the admin center.

Audience: School and District Administrators

Impact: With the addition of these courses to the college and career readiness library, administrators can offer even more impactful options to students within their schools and districts.

What is the enhancement?

This school year, we’re adding four additional AP® courses to expand student access and prepare students for success on A.P.® exams: AP® Macroeconomics, AP® Microeconomics, AP® Statistics, and AP® Psychology.

How does it work?

With these upcoming additions, our robust offering in Courseware will grow to 12 introductory college-level courses aligned to the College Board® and latest national standards. This investment represents another step forward toward making our Apex Courses catalog available on the Edmentum platform.

Internal Note: Courses will be made available via an API integration from Apex

Customer-Facing Teaser Video

Audience: Teachers

Impact: Large - this is a critical feature for both Courseware and Apex Courses customers and should support future transitions to ELF. This also brings us up to parity with Edgenuity.

What is the enhancement?

The 2023-24 school year, we’re introducing two pacing and progress-focused updates, designed to help drive student accountability toward successful on-time course completion and success.

How does it work?

The introduction of On-Target Grade provides educators and students a meaningful new data point for tracking performance, by providing an average grade of all completed and scored activities students are expected to have completed by the target date. While Current Grade provides an average of only work students have completed, and Course Grade provides an average of all work available in the course—both those activities students have and haven’t completed, On-Target Grade splits the difference, by answering the question: Based on my expectations of where students should be tracking, what is the learner’s grade right now?

Additionally, we’re making on-target grade even more powerful by also introducing editable target dates. This update allows educators to make adjustments to when specific activities should be completed, either for an individual student or for entire sections. Do you want to give a specific student an extension on an activity? Edit the target date of when that activity is due, and the learner isn’t penalized for their tardy assignment in their on-target grade.

Customer Facing Teaser Video

Audience: Administrators and teachers

Impact: Large impact for existing Courseware customers wanting updated middle school core-four content, but with a familiar and native experience that other Courseware courses allow

What is the enhancement?

We are improving the overall experience for our middle school core subject courses by offering more customization, easier assignment submission, and streamlined grading workflows.

How does it work?

Last summer, we introduced 16 new middle school courses spanning all four core subjects that offered deep standards coverage and engaging, scaffolded content and meaningful practice for students. This investment signaled the first step toward integration of Apex content into the Edmentum platform.

This year, we’re taking that work a step further with notable improvements to the course experience, including:

  • Unlocking full use of custom course builder and Flex assignments, just like any other native Courseware course
  • Enabling a familiar course structure with lessons focused on instruction, practice, and mastery tests and key teacher graded activities such as practices and labs are now unit activities. This structure will carry over to the Gradebook for streamlined grading workflows.
  • Creating a improved student experience for mastery tests by allowing easy test question navigation and access to student tools such as highlighters.
  • Embedding assignment features so that access of introductory material, instructions, or rubrics doesn’t require leaving the page. Additionally, instructional content is embedded alongside student activities, and student answers will persist from one session to the next. When work is submitted, teachers can access responses and provide timely feedback.

Audience: Florida Administrators and Middle School Teachers

Impact: Critical to ensure state standards alignment, where we currently have gaps. We have significant penetration and opportunity for growth in the state.

What is the enhancement?

Robust, rigorous, and Florida BEST standards-aligned middle school courses are on their way for grades 6-8 math, language arts, science, and social studies.

How does it work?

In 2023, Edmentum made significant updates to create high school courses aligned to the new BEST standards; now we are extending this work to our middle school offerings. Course updates will focus on standards alignments and course design expectations to adhere to all Florida requirements.

What is the new release?

  • submit student submissions, copy and paste student free-write responses, and upload images in a variety of
formats to verify authenticity of student work

As such, we have chosen to end our partnership with eDynamic Learning, and we are reimagining our CTE catalog for the 2024-2025 school year.

How does it work?

Through March 3, 2024, you may quote the existing libraries for single or multiyear deals, but subscriptions may not extend beyond March 4, 2027. On March 4, 2024, you should begin quoting our new offerings for both net new and renewing Courseware customers.
